The study of dangers is a principle of safety in general and of industry in particular, a prerequisite of which is the inventory of objects and activities with their intrinsic dangers. It is followed by risk analysis (scenarios that may lead to unwanted events), with a view to controlling these risks as effectively as possible through preventive measures.
